The Towering Cork Oak
Have you ever been awed by a giant cumulus nimbus cloud that rises up into the atmosphere before a summer storm? That is the sensation I had when I saw this outsized cork oak (Quercus suber) rise to the heavens, towering above the earth like some mighty power about to strike us with its lightning bolts. I like to photograph trees because of the possibilities they present to the imagination. There are stories hidden in them.
