Rio de Janeiro has probably the most beautiful setting of any large city in the world. Given that it is so picturesque, it is a challenge to make a unique photograph of my home city. I have always admired Chinese landscape paintings, especially the way artists have portrayed mountains fading into the background as successive waves of shades of grey. I have managed this same effect on a very good day photographing from a secret spot in the Tijuca National Park in Rio, with iconic Christ statue on top of Corcovado on the left and the Sugar Loaf on the right. Printed on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl, digitally signed on the lower left corner and mailed with a certificate of authenticity. Edition of 10 at this size (150×100 cm).
