Mother and Child

from €119.00

A mother and her child stroll without a care through an alley in a cork oak plantation in the Alentejo. The Portuguese “Montado” is a silvopastoral ecosystem that has been moulded by  humans for millennia. This photograph is part of my series on the Portuguese “montados”, or Mediterranean oak forests. What is fascinating about the trees of the Portuguese “montados” (Mediterranean oak forests) is that each one seems to have a very distinctive personality. Each is an easily recognizable individual.
