Lady of the Night
In the summer, the Alentejo region of Portugal becomes one of the hottest places on Earth, with daylight temperatures easily exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. No wonder that the native holm oaks (Quercus ilex) come out at night to enact a sensuous dance under the moon, commemorating the cool air blown by Nyx, goddess of the night. I like to photograph trees because of the possibilities they present to the imagination. There are stories hidden in them.
