Anonymous Giant

I feel like this large and beautiful cork oak should have a name, but it never told me what to call it. This photograph is part of my series on the Portuguese “montados”, or Mediterranean oak forests. What is fascinating about the trees of the Portuguese “montados” (Mediterranean oak forests) is that each one seems to have a very distinctive personality. Each is an easily recognizable individual.
